Frequently Asked Questions
What is CP Companion?▼
CP Companion is the first daily care coordination app built specifically for parents of children with cerebral palsy. It combines a daily care log, spasticity tracker, therapy habit tracker, and Danish benefit navigator in one place. The app is personalized to your child's GMFCS level from day one, so every feature is calibrated to what actually matters for their care.

GMFCS stands for Gross Motor Function Classification System — a five-level scale that describes how a child with cerebral palsy moves and what support they need. CP Companion uses your child's GMFCS level to personalize the entire app: the milestones it surfaces, the care signals it tracks, and the therapy routines it suggests are all calibrated to your child's actual functional level. This means parents of a child at GMFCS level I and a child at level V see completely different, relevant experiences.
Read more →How does the daily care log work?▼
Each day you log three signals — spasticity level, sleep quality, and caregiver battery — in under 30 seconds. Over time, these entries build a continuous record of your child's patterns that you can share with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and neurologists at appointments. No more reconstructing the past month from memory during a 20-minute consultation.

Spasticity varies day to day and is nearly impossible to describe accurately from recall alone. CP Companion's cerebral palsy tracker logs spasticity levels alongside sleep and stress patterns, so your physiotherapist can see trends rather than a single snapshot. Research shows that parents who bring structured data to appointments report more productive clinical conversations and better-targeted therapy adjustments.
Read more →What is the Therapist Export feature?▼
Therapist Export turns 30 days of logged data into a clean, readable clinical summary you can share before or during any appointment. It works for physio, OT, neurology, and school health meetings — anywhere a professional needs to understand your child's recent patterns. You can download it as a PDF or share a link directly from the app.
Read more →Is CP Companion free?▼
CP Companion uses a freemium model. Daily care logging — the core habit — is completely free with no time limit. Paid features include the Therapist Export and the Benefit Navigator, which unlock after a 14-day free trial. Pricing is $7.99 per month or $49.99 per year.
How is CP Companion different from Epsy or other health trackers?▼
Epsy was built for epilepsy and seizure tracking — it is excellent for that purpose but has no cerebral palsy-specific features. CP Companion tracks the signals that actually matter for CP care: spasticity, GMFCS-calibrated milestones, therapy compliance, and Danish disability benefit navigation. There is no other dedicated cerebral palsy tracker on the App Store.
Read more →Why not just use a notes app or paper diary?▼
Paper and notes apps capture text but cannot surface patterns, generate clinical reports, or filter benefit information by your municipality. When you use a general notes app, you still have to manually reconstruct trends before every appointment — which is exactly the problem CP Companion solves. A purpose-built cerebral palsy tracker organizes the data so you don't have to.
Is my child's health data private and secure?▼
All health data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties or used for advertising. CP Companion is built with GDPR compliance in mind from the ground up, given the sensitive nature of pediatric health records. You own your data and can export or delete it at any time.
What is the Benefit Navigator?▼
The Benefit Navigator helps parents find municipal grants, equipment rights, school support entitlements, and accessible resources filtered by their Danish municipality. Navigating Danish disability benefits is a documented source of burnout for CP families — this feature replaces hours of research with a structured, searchable directory. It launches with coverage for all Danish municipalities.
Does CP Companion work for children at all GMFCS levels?▼
Yes. CP Companion is designed for children at GMFCS levels I through V, from ages 0 to 18. When you set up a profile, the app adapts what it tracks and what milestones it surfaces based on your child's level and age. A family managing a child who walks independently has different daily care priorities than a family managing full-time positioning and feeding support — and the app reflects that.
Read more →How long does daily logging actually take?▼
The core daily log takes under 30 seconds — three taps across spasticity, sleep, and caregiver battery. The app is designed to be sustainable for parents who are already stretched thin. You can add optional notes if something notable happened, but the structured log is intentionally minimal to protect the habit.
Does CP Companion work outside Denmark?▼
The daily care log, spasticity tracker, therapist export, and habit tracker work for any family anywhere. The Benefit Navigator is Denmark-specific at launch, covering Danish municipal support systems and CP Danmark resources. International expansion — starting with the DACH region and Nordics — is planned for later versions.
